FHFE Interviewing Skills Class

Knowing how to interview can be the key to landing a job or getting a college scholarship.  As part of our mission to enhance the education and career opportunities for all Forest Hills students, the Forest HIlls Foundation for Education has put together an inteviewing skills class for high school juniors and seniors.

This class is divided into two parts: online instruction and in person mock interviews. In the online instruction, students will gain feedback on their resume, construct answers to potential interview questions and be able to view video of themselves answering these questions. In the mock interviews, students will dress professionally and gain valuable feedback as they interact with local professionals.

Part One--Online Interviewing Skills Class:

Hone your interviewing skills by participating in the online class taught by Anderson resident Michele Geiger*. Register below and you will be sent the Voicethread link for this class. This link also includes information on writing a cover letter and preparing a resume.

Part Two--Practice Interviews:

Take the next step and practice what you have learned in a mock interview with local business professionals. Feedback will be given followed by a networking session. Interviews will take place on Sunday, January 29th at Nagel Middle School from 4pm to 5:30pm.

In order to participate in the practice interviews, students should complete at least one online activity and prepare a resume.  Send the resume to Linda Mehas at info@fhfe.org (please include "resume" in the subject line of the email). Resumes should be sent by January 23rd.

Registration for the practice interviews is limited to 50 students. Students who send the resume will be automatically signed up for the practice interview unless registration is closed due to the 50 student limit being reached. Students will be notified if this is the case.

This online interviewing skills class is open to all Anderson and Turpin high school juniors and seniors at no charge. This class is supported by the Forest HIlls Foundation for Education (FHFE) and our generous donors. For more information about FHFE, visit our website at www.fhfe.org.
