Social Media Workshop - Get Ready for GiveBigNRV 2017

Sponsored by The Community Foundation of the New River Valley and The Foundation for Roanoke Valley

Back by popular demand! With such positive feedback from the 2016 social media workshop, we've teamed up again with the Foundation for Roanoke Valley to bring Sarah Milston, founder of The Spark Mill, back for another full day of social media and give day strategies!

The Spark Mill believes that all nonprofits regardless of size can have high functioning and high return social media programs. You will learn the basics of social media and receive cost effective and practical solutions with tangible action steps that can be implemented at your organization.

Social Media for Nonprofits (9:00 - 1:30)

The first part of the day will give participants a basic understanding of social media and how to use popular tools, to understand how to apply social media to their work, understand return on investment and risks of social media tools, and to get inspired to tackle social media on their own.  This portion of the day will be similar to last year with some new content.

Also covered:

  • Emerging Trends and Tools
  • Strategy - creating great content and timing it for the greatest impact
  • Measurement techniques

Give Day Strategies (2:00 - 4:30)

This portion will help participants prepare for the Roanoke Valley Gives and/or GiveBigNRV annual online giving days.  Attendance guarantees that you walk away with tips, tools, and ideas to leverage the power of social media.
