Presentation:  Target Green West Marlborough, Greening the Gray: A Look at Design Through Construction

The Target Green West Marlborough project is part of KC Water Services $4.5-5.0 Billion Overflow Control program to bring the City back into permit compliance. This project is the second phase of green infrastructure projects, following the Middle Blue River Green Infrastructure Pilot Project. This project includes centralized and distributed storage, as well as sewer separation. Green Infrastructure types include permeable pavers, bioretention, dry detention, swales, and wetland detention. The project was broken into three construction packages. Currently two of the three packages are nearly complete with the third and largest package is close to half way completed. This presentation will provide an overview on the design objectives and considerations, key project features, as well as construction challenges and successes.

Speakers:

SP. is a civil engineer with 10 years of experience in infrastructure and stormwater design and construction services, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, erosion and sediment control, and environmental permitting. Ms. Veach’s most recent work includes the design and implementation of green infrastructure for water quality and volume reduction projects, particularly for CSO programs in the region, as well as other CSO program projects including I/I reduction both on the public and private side.
