APICS Tampa Bay, the premier professional association for supply chain management, invites local supply chain, operations, transportation, logistics and distribution professionals to our Professional Development Meeting on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the DoubleTree Hotel Tampa Airport Westshore, 4500 W. Cypress Street, Tampa, FL 33607.  

This will be a joint meeting with the Florida Gulf Coast Affiliate of the Institute for Supply Management.

Our guest speaker is Mr. Forrest Walker, a veteran of global sourcing with more than 30 trips to China, as well as sourcing trips to India, S. Korea, and Mexico throughout his career in purchasing. 

The topic that will be discussed is "Global Supply Chain Risk Management" and will cover three distinct areas:

1. Global Soft Skills Development 
2. Global Risk Management Tools 
3. Risk Management End Results 

Forrest Walker, CPSM, CPSD, C.P.M. is a Category Manager for Hardware products and comes to us from PGT Industries in Venice, FL, the nation’s leading manufacturer and supplier of residential impact-resistant windows and doors.

Participants will leave with a better understanding of the modern global risk management skills, tool, and results required in international procurement today.

Speaker: 
Forrest Walker, CPSM, CPSD, C.P.M 

Forrest Walker is a Category Manager for hardware products at PGT Innovations in Venice, Florida.He is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where he received his Bachelor of Science degree, and double majored in Financial Management and Policy Administration.

Mr. Walker holds the ISM designations of CPSM, CPSD, and Lifetime C.P.M.. He is also an ISO9001:2015 Certified Lead Auditor. Lastly, he is a former Peace Corps Volunteer to the Philippines, and has continued his work in Asia via his more than 20 years of regional product sourcing, which includes 33 trips to China.

Agenda:

This dinner meeting includes your choice of water, iced tea and coffee, dinner rolls and a mixed green salad.  Entree choices are Beef or Chicken and Vegetable Medley.  Dessert is a choice of Cheese Cake or Chocolate Torte.
