2017 Keynote Speaker:

John Walsh

Anti-Crime Activist and host of America's Most Wanted and  The Hunt with John Walsh

Anti-crime activist and celebrity speaker, John Walsh was the host of the nation's longest-running prime-time program and number-one crime-fighting show, America's Most Wanted. Host of the new CNN series The Hunt with John Walsh, this documentary style non-fiction program tells the stories of ongoing criminal investigations with an international focus. Walsh will share important information with audiences about suspects still at large in an effort to apprehend fugitives.

Walsh was the leading lobbying force behind the passage of the Missing Children's Act, which resulted in the founding of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Walsh's dedication to this issue is rooted in the cruelest of tragedies-- the 1981 abduction and murder of his six-year-old son.

Walsh has been widely recognized for his tireless crusade to protect and save children. Three presidents have honored him for his efforts, and his work has been acknowledged in the Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and People Magazine. Walsh was named by CBS Portraits as one of the "100 Americans Who Changed History." In 1988 he was named the US Marshal's Man of the Year, and in 1990 he received the same award from the FBI. In 2003, he was made an Honorary US Marshal, an award he shares with only seven other men.

Walsh recounts how he became an advocate for children, and how he turned the pain of his son's death into a lifelong mission to help others. Making a difference every day, he has helped make the world safer for children and their families.
