Aspen Presents AeroCamp Advanced

Monday-Friday, July 17-21
9:00am-4:00pm Daily

Cleared for Takeoff!

AeroCamp Advanced is a summer camp experience like no other! Young aspiring aviators - high school students age 15-17 -  spend each day immersed in aviation education and flying airplanes. This program is ideal for individuals who are interested in learning to fly or in pursuing a career in aviation or aerospace.

Each day will be split into three parts: ground training, flight training, and a special event or activity.

Ground Training:

  • Attend daily classroom ground schools to prepare for each flight lesson.
  • Discover how flight instruments work and how to interpret them.
  • Learn how to read aviation charts.
  • Practice the aviation phonetic alphabet and radio communication.

Flight Training:

  • Take the controls on an introductory flight lesson.
  • Conduct a preflight aircraft inspection.
  • Practice the four basic flight maneuvers: climbs, turns, straight-and-level flight, and descents.
  • Learn to fly a rectangular airport traffic pattern.

Special Events & Activities:

  • Tour aviation facilities such as air traffic control tower and aircraft maintenance hangar.
  • Learn about different careers in the aviation industry.
  • Discover the inner workings of one of the busiest General Aviation airports in the country.

In order to maximize each camper’s experience, AeroCamp Advanced has a maximum class size of 8 participants (minimum of 4.) The cost of $1,995 includes all flight time, flight and ground instructor time, pilot supplies, and activities.

Registration deadline is July 1st
