The Annual Meeting of the Alpaca Breeders of the Rockies will be held on Sunday, November 14! We encourage you to attend this important meeting!

  • Tara Shinnick, ABR Treasurer, will be available for questions of the 2017 budget.
  • Kim Taha, Stock Show Manager, will be on hand to offer assistance for NWSS.
  • Cindy Grigg, our new business office representative will be here.

Lunch will be served around 11:30 am at a cost of $16.00 per person.

Our afternoon program will begin arond 12:30 and last until approximately 2:00. There will be a question and answer period after the presentation.

Timothy Holt, DVM, Associate Professor, Veterinary Medicine, Colorado State University, will be our after lunch speaker. He will discuss:
  • Septic Crias
  • Most Common Mistakes Breeders Make
  • Acupuncture
Dr. Tim Holt graduated Veterinary School in 1988 from Colorado State University. Following graduation, he joined a mixed animal practice in Gunnison, Colorado, and was there until 2003. At that time he decided to come to the Front Range and accepted a clinical instructor position at CSU Veterinary Medical Center in the Food and Fiber Animal Section. He made the move because this position combined his two professional passions, ceterinary medicine and teaching. Dr. Holt began to apply complementary care techniques to patients in his mixed animal practice in 1999 while working in Gunnison. "Acupuncture and manual therapy can be integral adjunct treatments in combination with western medicine" say Dr. Holt. Besides his clinical patient care and senior veterinary student teaching responsibilities he is often lecturing around the state to various organizations about complementary medicine.

There will be a question and answer period with Dr. Holt at the conclusion of his presentation.

This should be a great informational meeting and a great chance to catch up with fellow ABR members.

If you need any further information, please contact the ABR business office at (970) 586-5589 or abr@alpacabreeders.org.

Please get your registration in for lunch by November 7, 2016.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
