Have you ever looked at your child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) only to end up scratching your head in confusion?  Whether you are a "seasoned" special education parent or one who is new to "all things" special education, you are invited to join us to gain a better understanding of an IEP.  This workshop will "walk" participants through each section of the IEP and provide information on required content by exploring:

  • the IEP as a strategic planning document and process;
  • how the IEP is developed and how each section builds upon the next to guide instruction and learning for the coming year;
  • how parents can take an active role in the IEP development process;
  • the Committee on Special Education (CSE)...Members? Roles?Responsibilities?; and
  • alphabet soup! (disability and special education related terms and acronyms)

Please feel free to make this a "lunch and learn" opportunity by bringing your own lunch or snack to eat during the training.  Don't forget the napkins!

Reminder

Occasionally, winter weather creates hazardous driving conditions making it necessary to cancel PNCR training events. When this occurs, every effort will be made to notify registrants of the cancellation a minimum of 2 hours prior to the training start time. Registrants will be notified using the phone number and/or email address provided during event registration.

Please remember to check your voice mail and/or email messages 2 hours prior to an event's starting time.
