Cancellation Policy: Registrants wishing to cancel must inform RRTI in writing to katelyn@nyrehab.org, by March 23, 2017 to avoid liability for the entire fee. In cases where cancellations are not received by March 23, 2017, refunds will not be made.
7.5 Contact Hourse & Continuing Education Hours: This training is approved to provide 7.5 contact hours for social workers through NYS Education Department and is approved to award 7.5 continuing education hours for RNs by the Northeast Multi-State Division Continuing Nursing Education Unit.
OPWDD Approved: This training meets the requirement for diabetic education of RN's contained in NYS OPWDD Administrative Directive 2003-01. This training qualifies as both the initial RN train-the-trainer as well as the annual update for RN's on Diabetes Management.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Nurses, Social Workers, Dietitians, Family Care Providers and Other Practitioners
ABOUT THE COURSE: This comprehensive curriculum provides essential information for working with people who have pre-diabetic or diabetic conditions with a focus on those with special needs.
It is designed to provide RN's with information to enhance their role in managing the healthcare of individuals with diabetes and provide resources to assist the RN in educating unlicensed direct care staff in the day-to-day care of individuals with pre-diabetes and diabetes.
RRTI and instructor Gary Anello, RN, MSN, CDE will offer the complete 8-hour course via two 4-hour interactive training sessions.
WHEN & HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
SESSION 1: Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 12:00PM - 4:00PM
SESSION 2: Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 12:00PM - 4:00PM
Participants MUST attend both sessions of the presentation in order to receive a Certificate of Completion awarding 7.5 continuing education credits.
