GAP 15th Annual Mitch Maricich Awards & Fundraiser Event

YOUR SUPPORT of GAP’s 15th Annual Mitch MaricichAwards Dinner & FUNdraiser will help kids say “no” to gangs and “yes” to positive lifestyles. ALL ABOARD!

Register Now!Dear Friends & Community Partners:

The Gang Alternatives Program, best known as GAP, is celebrating 31 years of service to the community on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the 15th Annual Mitch Maricich Awards Dinner & Fundraiser, BON VOYAGE WITH GAP. Join us aboard The Queen Mary in Long Beach from 5:30 to 10:00 pm for this casual, nautical-themed fundraising event. Festivities include pre-event ship tours, food stations, silent auction, Reach-A-Kid Bids, entertainment and more.  Hop on deck for a boat load of fun and help GAP stay shipshape!

Your participation in this event will help raise the necessary funds to sail GAP into the next year and beyond. Proceeds will allow us to continue removing prolific graffiti from our communities and in guiding school-aged children away from violent gangs and toward healthy lifestyles and productive activities.

What is our mission? To eliminate the base of gang membership by teaching a generation of youth, families and communities to say NO! to gangs and YES! to positive lifestyle choices. What do we do? In addition to our gang prevention program for 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade students, we offer education for parents of at-risk youth, after-school program youth activities, a summer youth employment program and extensive graffiti abatement and community clean-up services. How are we recognized? We are honored to be endorsed by the Los Angeles Unified School District, the Los Angeles County Office of Education, the City of Los Angeles, the County of Los Angeles, and the National Gang Crime Research Center.

GAP’s positive impact is felt everyday by thousands of people in the Los Angeles area – from Rowland Heights to Whitter, San Pedro to Watts, Carson to Wilmington, and South Los Angeles to Boyle Heights. Our worldwide, award-winning Gangfree LifeŽ programs are highly recognized as leaders in primary gang prevention and our earnest desire is to continue to be a positive and driving force in producing gang-free communities and healthy family and community bonds
