Gardening in the Shade 

An often asked question about the changing lawn and landscape once the trees begin to mature is--What grows in shade? This question often comes when homeowners are attempting to grow a lawn under large shade trees. While turfgrass may no longer be an option, there are hundreds of shade-loving plants, both native and adapted, that will perform exceptionally in the shade areas from trees, fences and other structures in the landscape.  A well designed shade landscape might just be the favorite spot of the family during those hot summer months.
