Spend the night in Georgia's oldest brick fort and experience history firsthand!

Tickets are now on sale for the 2017 “Old Fort Jackson Family Campover,” the annual event for families to experience history firsthand in a 207-year-old National Landmark. The event will take place on Friday, March 3rd at 5 pm through Saturday, March 4th at 9 am at Old Fort Jackson, 1 Fort Jackson Rd, Savannah, GA 31404.

During the event, children will train as soldiers from the American Revolution and participate in a reenactment of the 1778 Battle of Savannah. This year’s registration and tent setup will begin at 5:00 pm and dinner will be served at 6:15 pm, followed by many fun and exciting military activities. The night will end with smores, historic songs and games. The next morning campers will rise, pack up their gear, enjoy breakfast and participate in the event closing ceremonies.

               

Preregistration and prepayment for the "Old Fort Jackson Family Campover" is required and tickets are $55 for children ages 6 to 15 years of age. Tickets are $35 for adults 16 years of age and older. Adults 18 years and older can purchase an optional Black Powder Training add-on costing $50.

Registered adult participants of Black Powder Training will experience a thorough, 90-minute training session detailing how to maintain and fire historic firearms and artillery. Participants will be able to attend an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of restricted areas of Old Fort Jackson as well as fire their own musket and 12 lb howitzer cannon. 

Space for the "Old Fort Jackson Family Campover" is limited. Families are asked to bring their own tents and sleeping bags. A limited number of historic tents will be available for rent at an additional fee of $20. Dinner, evening snacks, and a light breakfast are included in the registration price.

 Registration for the "Old Fort Jackson Family Campover" will close on Wednesday March, 1st. Barring event cancellation due to severe weather, tickets are non-refundable.

Pricing is $35 per adult (age 16 and up) and $55 per child (ages 6 to 15).
