State of Healthcare in Alabama

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States spent more on health care per capita ($9403), and more on health care as percentage of its GDP (17.1%), than any other nation in 2014. Germany spent $5411 per capita and 11.3% of GDP.

We have higher screening rates; higher access to treatment for high cholesterol or hypertension and in some cases higher survival rates for special type of cancers. But not all have access to the system. The Affordable Care Act did make healthcare accessible to many more but had challenges and now might be a thing in the past?

A large demographic shift in the United States is putting pressure on the medical system, and the industries that support it. Baby boomers retire every day which removes many talented and experienced workers from the medical field but also increase the medical spending through medicare and other social services.

Learn about the state of healthcare in Alabama from our broad lineup of speakers and panels. They will cover what impact our healthcare system have on healthcare providers and other institutions; and what the corporate perspective and solutions are.
