Trail Horse Clinic

Workshops $75.00 per rider per session (4 different sessions available)

Challenge Course Classes $35.00 per rider/per horse

Grounds/Office fee per rider $25.00 for entire weekend for all riders.

 Trail Horse Clinic & Workshops 

 

 

 

 

    Clinician Joe Most & his horse Tuff will help you to develop a soft and willing partner in your horse. 



 

 

 


Thursday  AM -  Ground Skills & Libery Workshop will focus on building respect on the ground, managing tools and liberty skills.  All horse owners at some point will need the skills to be able to work with their horse at liberty (no halter, no lead).   

Thursday PM   Rein Management & Communication Workshop/Clinic.  The use of 2 reins to communicate with  your horses 4 hooves. Skills for speed control, turning on the forehand & haunches. 

Friday AM   Riding with Refinement Workshop/Clinic  focusing on refinement  while building better body control, confidence & safety on the trail.  

Friday PM    Mastering Obstacles Workshop/Clinic focusing on navigating trail obstacles.  Overcoming obstacle & doing simple things well. 

 PARTICIPATION - Pre-Registration is required.   This Clinic is designed for those who wish to improve their enjoyment and safety while trail riding and to maneuver basic obstacles.

-Please do not bring a horse that has never been outside an arena or show ring. Horses must have had at least some trail experience prior to the Clinic. If you or your horse have had no trail riding experience, contact PPE for information about what you can do to prepare for a clinic. 


       

 Saturday-

Trail Horse Competition:

  Trail Horse Classes: ($35.00 per class) 

 1.   Obstacle Challenge Course (consists of 6-8 obstacles with different levels of challenge for the trail horse)

  2.   Trail Patterns Course (consists of a pattern with transitions, speed control & some obstacles. 

   We offer 4 Divisions:  

 All Breed  Adult & Youth (youth 6-18yrs) 

AQHA Adult & Youth (youth 6-18yrs.) 

3 Levels  for All Breed Divisions & AQHA Divisions

 Level 1 -Training Level: This is considered a new partnership. The rider and horse may not have established trust or are unsure about each member's ability to negotiate simple obstacles.  Obstacles should be easy to explain to the team: basic maneuver or technique needed to complete the obstacle.

Level 2-Intermediate Level: This is considered an established Partnership. The rider and Horse are familiar with one another, exhibit trust when negotiating obsacles are conditioned to ride a longer course. 

Level 3-Masters Level:  This is considered a Partnership where Horse and rider have established trust, can negotiate difficult obstacles and are conditioned for a longer course. 

 NEW!  A rider may show multiple horses Classes.   Horses may be shown in multiple divisions. 

      

  

 

 Camping Information/Grounds Fees:

Grounds Fee $25.00 per rider (all riders)  

 Primitive Camping Available on Site with room for picket lines, portable fencing.  

RV Hookups & Stalls/Pens Available 2 miles from Main Event   Water Acces  on site- Shower/Bath house on site.
