York-Credit Valley Parish Leadership
Workshop ~ March 11 2017

This day-long workshop will provide you with up-to-date information about the organizational support and resources available to you through the Synod Office. Learn about the tools and materials you need to  effectively and confidently serve as a parish leader.

It is expected that parishes will send their current leadership team: clergy and churchwardens. Other lay leaders (deputy churchwardens, treasurers, parish administrators) may attend as appropriate for your leadership team.

Session topics will include

• Human Resources (screening, contracts vs. employees, hiring & firing)
• Real Property Management (licenses/leases, inspections, rectories)
• Parish Finances (legal status, CRA, responsibilities and trust funds)
• Insurance and Risk Management

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: Although we will pass on details of any dietary concerns, past experience suggests that we cannot cater fully to the needs of those who are gluten intolerant or on other special diets. We would respectfully suggest that you may wish to bring an appropriate alternative, though we hope that some of the refreshments may be suitable for you.   

Please arrive and check in from 8:45 am for a prompt start at 9:15 am (tea and coffee will be available).   

COST: $12 per person (this event is subsidized by York-Credit Valley Area Council)
