This training session will provide a basic overview of essential functions of marketing and customized job development for employment support professionals who work with job candidates with disabilities. Along with learning the essential functions of job development, individuals will be introduced to various models and methods successful developers use in their communities.

Your trainers will be:
Val Morgan, CEO, Conscious Moves. Val brings over 25 years of sales experience and training with local businesses. She teaches Job Development Sales Fundamentals training at The Highline Community College Employment Specialist Certificate Course, as well as providing training and consulting on job development to numerous employment agencies in Washington State. She provides valuable information to increase knowledge and skills in order to prepare job developers to effectively communicate with employers, and increase placement of their clients.
Trish Borden, recently retired from Trillium Employment Services where she was Executive Director for 29 years Trish has been the Executive Director of Trillium since 1987. She has a master’s degree in Special Education and extensive experience in working with adults with disabilities. Trish’s experience with job development has included corporate development of opportunities at Boeing and Physio Control. She has also been active with development of public sector job opportunities, which included leadership to create state legislation to make it easier for people with developmental disabilities to become state employees. Trish is also very involved in the community having served for 12 years on the Auburn City Council and is a past president of the Rotary Club of Auburn.
Aimee Sharp, WISE Program Manager is passionate about equality and inclusion and believes that employment is the most efficient way for a person to be an active, contributing member of their community. This fuels her commitment and energy to the Supported Employment movement. Aimee graduated from the University of Washington in 2008 and has utilized her skills and experience to grow and support a large network of businesses committed to diversifying their workforce by hiring people with disabilities. Aimee firmly believes that Supported Employment is a win-win for everyone and enjoys sharing her experience and knowledge with others in the field in many ways including co-instructing the Highline Employment Certification course as well as at Bellevue College.
