17th Annual Scholarship Awards Breakfast! 

Each Year, ACE DC awards tens of thoughts of dollars in college scholarships to area high school students interested in pursuing careers in Architecutre, Construction and Engineering. The Scholarship Breakfast is a celebration of our mentors, students, sponsors and the built industry.  

We are thrilled that George S. Hawkins, Esq.
will be our Keynote Speaker!

George Hawkins serves as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of DC Water.

Mr. Hawkins is transforming DC Water into an innovative, customer-oriented enterprise, focused on customer engagement, vibrant social media, as well as research and development.  Under his leadership, DC Water is designing and constructing the $2.6 Billion Clean Rivers Project to prevent overflow of sewage and stormwater into Rock Creek and the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers. He launched DC Water Works – a program to encourage local workforce hiring. 

Mr. Hawkins has received many awards for his work, including the 2016 Public Official of the Year from the Water Environment Association, 2015 George W. Fuller Award for Leadership and Innovation from the American Water Works Association, 2014 Public Official of the Year Award from Governing Magazine and Business Leader and Public Leader Awards from the DC Chamber of Commerce and DC Building Industry Association. In 2016, he was appointed to the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC).     

Mr. Hawkins graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School. He teaches Environmental Law and Policy at Princeton University.
