The Center for Ministry Development invites you to join us at Rivier University in Nashua, NH. for our 2017 workshop on Ministry with Gen Z and Their Families- There's an App for That. Just as we are getting used to the Millennials, along comes Generation Z, which includes youth born in the mid to late 1990’s, mostly to Gen X parents. These young people are tech savvy, social innovators, and are anxious to create a customized way to belong and contribute. We can accompany this generation toward active discipleship by listening and responding. We can create pathways and onramps for Gen Z youth, lead them to an encounter with God's love, and include their many gifts and their seemingly boundless energy in our parish community. We can also connect with their parents to spark faith growth for the whole family.
This workshop will share the research about Gen Z along with effective ways for parishes to engage youth and their families in active ministry. We will include practical ideas and starting points within these topics as we explore the ministry implications for youth ministry, catechesis, sacramental preparation, and parish life:
• Listening to and Walking with Gen Z Youth
• Engaging their Parents and Families
• Making Faith Personal through Relationships and Formation
• Evangelizing Youth and Parents through Technology
• Transforming Ministries and Creating New Pathways for Young Disciples
The workshop is designed for all parish leaders whose ministries touch the lives of adolescents and their families—including pastors, deacons, pastoral associates, coordinators of youth ministry, leaders in faith formation and catechists, Confirmation preparation leaders, and service/social concerns leaders.
The cost is $54.00, which includes lunch, handouts, and other materials.
Please join us for interactive learning, conversation, prayer and discovery around forming our young people as missionary disciples.
The day begins with registration from 8:30 AM and the workshop from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Lunch is provided at noon.
