Fundraising & Marketing: A Two-Part Workshop on

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25

Join the SW MN Arts Council and arts organizations across the region for a two-part workshop that will build exceptional board member and volunteer FUNDRAISING teams -- and then teach those teams how to use the powerful tools of SOCIAL MEDIA to grow donor bases and engagement with larger and larger audience.

~ Choose to attend just one session or attend both; lunch will be provided ~

This workshop is FREE (Registration is required!)

SESSION #1:  Fundraising
9 am - 12:00 pm • Marshall Lyon Co Library
Led by Carlo Cuesta of Creation in Common

Higher board member and volunteer engagement in fundraising is achievable and does not have to be dependent on an individual’s personal wealth and connections. To be successful at improving engagement, organizational leaders need to understand and know how to measure, activate, and position their board’s and volunteers’ unique fundraising strengths.

During this interactive workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Build a common language between staff, board, and volunteers about fundraising
  • Understand how to identify and measure fundraising strengths
  • Learn how to align board member and volunteer assets to the organization’s fundraising efforts.

12:00 - 1 pm:  LUNCH (available only for those to register by FEBRUARY 15)

SESSION #2:  Social Media
1:00 pm - 4 pm • Marshall Lyon Co Library
Led by Darren Johnson of Ascension Development Group

Now that you feel more comfortable with creating a fundraising plan, this session will help your organization use social media to:

  • Increase online giving
  • Increase monthly supporters
  • Promote your fundraising events
  • Increase page likes and followers
    • Get your message out to more people
    • Engage the ‘millennial’ generation

In addition to the use of social media you will learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

  • How important is it that your organization is actually “found” online?

This workshop is FREE (Registration is required!)
