Join us for for an educational program on Tuesday, March 14 at the Holiday Inn in South Burlington, as we learn about the Living Building Challenge from Brian Just of VEIC. The Living Building Challenge is a building certification program, advocacy tool, and philosophy that defines the most advanced measure of sustainability in the built environment possible today. It acts to rapidly diminish the gap between current limits and the end-game positive solutions we seek. Brian will introduce the program and its 7 performance categories for new and existing buildings. Presentation attendees are eligible for one AIA Learning Unit.
Our presenters will include Brian Just, who is RESNET, CPHC, and LEED AP certified. While obtaining his MASc in mechanical engineering, his research focus was on indoor air quality and biomass combustion, which deepened his interest in health impacts and the built environment. Outside of his daytime role working with residential energy efficiency programs, he volunteers with the International Living Future Institute as an Ambassador Presenter.
John Rahill of Black River Design will also present BRD's Living Building Challenge project at Williams College as a case study.
