Only crew members with a full comprehension and understanding of chain saw operations should operate a chain saw in tree work. This Tree Care Academy training module contains essential information for chain saw operators - both on the ground and in the air. The methods described in this training module will hone the skills and provide the confidence needed when performing safe chain saw operations on the job site.

Topics include site and tree inspections, planning the work, determining tree height and lean, starting the saw, safe body positioning, face cuts and notches, the felling plan, and more.

Attendees have the option to earn TCIA's Chain Saw Specialist credential by passing the exam in the TCIA Chain Saw Specialist manual (included with registration). The Specialist credential includes a certificate of completion, laminated wallet card, arm patch, and decal.  Completing the exam is done at your own pace and is not part of the class.

Check-in begins at 8:00am and class is from 8:30am - 12:30 pm.
