Intellectual Property Presentation

Thursday, May 18, 2017

This presentation will introduce you to the types of IP and when you might use them.

Take an engaging journey into the world of intellectual property (IP).

  • What tools from the "IP toolbox" do you need to protect your business?
  • Is it better to use a trademark, trade secret, patent, copyright, or an industrial design?
  • How long does it take and what does it cost?
Intellectual property rights are administered by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). Find out how to:
  • protect your innovations and
  • how to search CIPO's databases for valuable business information.

Presenter: Catherine Vardy, Business Development and Partnership Officer, Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO)
