Parenting Adolescents
Raising Healthy Individuals in the 21st Century
A workshop with Karen Rivers
The youth of America gaze upon the modern world with a sense of challenge. They behold the contrast between the beauty in nature and the graphic depictions of our contemporary culture. How can parents and schools support a healthy maturing process to unfold—nurturing, honoring and protecting the integrity of each child? What are the keys to cultivating healthy growth, creativity, inner strength, courage, and integrity in a society gripped by materialism, aggression, violence, and self–centeredness? What are the effects of fear, doubt, negativity and anger on the inner domain of childhood? How can we raise young people so they are interested in the world, in the beauty and challenges, and want to contribute to the future of human inquiry and growth?
