Join us on Wednesday, February 8th at The Jug Shop Tasting Bar: Enrico Nada from Treiso will be here to pour through an impressive lineup of his Piemonte wines as well as answer any questions about the wines you may have.
On March 27, 1900, a forefather of Giuseppe Nada sealed a deal on a vineyard, orchard, and a small house in the commune of Treiso. The vineyard was in the cru of Casot, and seller was a fellow named Gaja. Over the years the Nada holdings grew to six hectares of vines. In 1964 Giuseppe’s father, Antonio, decided to go for broke, built himself a small winery, and begin estate bottling his wine. Today Giuseppe and his wife Nella do most of the work in the vines, while their daughter Barbara man- ages the office and their son Enrico oversees the wine in the cellar (when he’s not helping in the vines). They are an energetic and industrious family and everyone does their part but, truth be told, it is En- rico’s guiding hand that has steered recent vintages at Nada to startling new levels. With a foundation in tradition and a careful touch of the modern, Enrico has put together an exceptional range of wines. Trei- so, already famous for Dolcetto, finds its reputation enhanced by Enrico’s phenomenal rendition of this classic red, while the insider’s secret is that his straight Nebbiolo is declassified Barbaresco.
