So You Want a Bank Loan? 

This 2-hour SCORE seminar covers the questions to expect when first meeting with your banker for a business loan.  Ron Barkley, the Course Leader, is a graduate of the School of Banking of Washington University, Seattle.  He is a recently retired commercial lender with over 50 years of experience handling banking loan requests for both start-up and established businesses.  Ron has reviewed hundreds of loan presentations throughout his career and knows the information a banker is looking for when making a loan decision.

• The need for a Business Plan and how to find free templates and assistance from SCORE
• Whether your personal credit history impacts a banker’s decision for a commercial loan
• What collateral will you be expected to provide
• For an existing business, the importance of supportable financial statements: Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and Cash Flow and what you should do to prepare for the interview regarding these documents
• How evaluations of new businesses will differ from existing businesses and why

Ron will be joined by other SCORE mentors who always stand ready to offer free assistance as you bring your business idea to reality.
