Effective Teacher/Child Interactions in Early Childhood Settings

Professional Learning Community

Professional Learning Community:
Educators are invited to participate in the following Early Education and Care and Out of School Time Professional Learning Communities (PLC).  During these sessions, educators will participate in reflective dialogue around a specific topic and discuss successes, challenges, and strategies that result in better programs for children in early childhood settings.   This is an opportunity to learn from, with, and on behalf of each other as early childhood and out of school time professionals.

PLC Description:

Research states that effective teacher – child interactions positively impact a child’s social and academic development.  In this session, participants will explore current interactions between the educator and child in participant’s programs and discuss ways to expand these interactions to support children’s development and learning.

Resources will include materials on the Arnett Caregiver Interaction Scale and the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS™) as well as related resources.
