YPG March Networking Event with partner ConocoPhillips

 

Join the YPG and ConocoPhillips New Hire Network for an evening of great speakers, networking, and more.  Our special guest speakers for the evening are Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation Chairman, Neil Bush and Chairman and CEO of ConocoPhillips, Ryan Lance.  Do not miss the opportunity to network with other professionals and interact with these two incredible, high-profile leaders.   Light bites and refreshments will be provided. There is no cost to attend this event.

 

Neil Bush

  Neil Bush is an international businessman who is active in service.  He serves as chair of the Points of Light Board of Directors, where Neil expands the vision launched by his father highlighting the critical importance of volunteers to the success of individual lives and the life of our country.  Neil is a director of the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M and serves on the board of the Houston Salvation Army.  Neil and his wife, Maria, are co-chairs of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, dedicated to increasing literacy rates for Houstonians of all ages.  Neil is member of the Houston Rotary.

In his professional life, Neil develops international business opportunities.  He is chair of Singhaiyi, a Singapore company investing in U.S. real estate, and director of Hong Kong’s Hoifu Energy, which has a diverse line of energy businesses.  Neil is a director of American Pacific International Capital, Inc., an international investment holding company.  Neil is a member of the Board of the Asia Society Texas Center in Houston.  Neil is chair of the Bush China US Relations Conference, which convenes American and Chinese leaders to cooperate on issues of global importance. 

Neil and Maria have six wonderful children and they are proud that the family passion for service has passed on to the next generation.  Neil’s daughter, Lauren Bush Lauren, is founder and CEO of FEED Projects, a nonprofit that has provided over 85 million meals to be served in schools in Africa on behalf of the UN World Food Programme.  His son, Pierce Bush, mentors an inner-city youngster and serves as Chief Executive Officer of  Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star.

Neil earned an MBA and a BA in international economics from Tulane University.

Ryan Lance

 Ryan M. Lance has served as chairman and chief executive officer of ConocoPhillips, the world’s largest independent exploration and production company based on production and reserves, since 2012. He is also chairman of the Executive Committee for ConocoPhillips.

Ryan is a petroleum engineer with 32 years of oil and natural gas industry experience in senior management and technical positions with ConocoPhillips, predecessor Phillips Petroleum and various divisions of ARCO. His past ConocoPhillips executive assignments included responsibility for international exploration and production, regional responsibility at various times for Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North America, and responsibility for technology, major projects, downstream strategy, integration and specialty functions.

Externally, Ryan serves as 2016-2017 chairman of the American Petroleum Institute. He is also an advocate for charities benefiting youth through his service on the board of Spindletop International, and a member of the board of directors for the Montana Tech Foundation, and the advisory council of the University of Texas Energy Institute.

Ryan is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Montana Tech in Butte in 1984.
