Indianapolis Chapter CSI February 2017 Meeting: 

State of CSI

 

The Indianapolis Chapter of CSI is having its February Chapter Meeting at the Willows on Westfield on Thursday, February 16 from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Mark Dorsey, FASAE, CAE, CEO of the Construction Specifications Institute will be giving a presentation on the future of CSI.  CSI exists so that Members enjoy an environment conducive to realizing their full professional potential and Mr. Dorsey’s presentation will focus on the organization’s progress towards reaching that end. He will discuss how CSI is working to ensure members have building information and project delivery knowledge; that CSI is recognized as a leading resource for the built environment; and that CSI’s credentials are recognized as “gold standards” of competence.  

This will be a special chapter meeting because the Great Lakes Region is sponsoring a webcast of the chapter meeting. This webcast is going out to :
  • All Region "at large" members
  • All Region members from each of the region chapters
  • All 10 nationwide regional presidents and president-elects
  • Members of the architectural community located on the Island of Providentiales, Turks and Caicos Islands, BWI
  • Members of the Architectural Community in Santiago, Cuba
  • Members of the Architectural Community in Havana, Cuba

The Great Lakes Region  and the Indianapolis Chapter have raised the bar to expand the CSI story and share the purpose of CSI worldwide.

About the Presenter:

Mark Dorsey, CAE, FASAE, is a resourceful executive recognized for his expertise in developing and presenting innovative corporate/association strategy with positive, quantifiable results; emphasis on change management, turnaround strategies, and revenue growth. 

Mark is CEO of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), an association serving 9,200 members based in Alexandria, Virginia. CSI’s members include specifiers, architects, engineers, contractors, facility managers, product representatives, manufacturers, owners and others who are experts in building construction and materials. Prior to CSI, Mark was CEO of the Professional Ski Instructors of America and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors, a 32,000-member nonprofit education association. During this period, PSIA-AASI saw record membership during seven of eight years, record revenue, and award-winning communications and outreach programs, including a 2014 Power of A Summit Award. Before he was CEO, he served PSIA-AASI and the National Ski Patrol concurrently as Marketing Director and later as Assistant Executive Director, where he expanded credentialing programs, sponsorships, and non-dues revenue.

Before launching a career in associations, he owned a consumer research company, bought and sold media in Seattle, WA, and Anchorage, AK, and served as Interim Executive Director, and later Chair, of Medical Education Collaborative, a non-profit continuing medical education corporation.

An ASAE Fellow, Mark has served ASAE in many capacities, including stints as a member of the ASAE Board of Directors, the ASAE Foundation Board, and Chair of the ASAE Research Committee.
