Survey Training

June 21 & 22 in Phoenix 

This 2-day training includes:

  • one classroom day on Wednesday, June 21 from 9 am to 5 pm AST at the Arizona Game and Fish Department headquarters in Phoenix
  • one day of field experience on Thursday, June 22 from about 6 am to noon. Attendees will choose one of two sites for their field experience: Agua Fria National Monument or the Hassayampa River Preserve. Space is limited at both sites and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Plan to indicate your preference when you register.
  • JUST ADDED: for Southeastern AZ Surveyors- Field Trip  Friday June 23        Tucson Audubon Biologists will lead a field experience in the Santa Rita Mountains on Friday June 23. This will be an opportunity to experience southeastern AZ cuckoo habitat--quite different. Optional but can count as your field training day if you plan to survey in SE Arizona. Audubon Arizona is hosting this training in partnership with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, AZ Game and Fish Department, BLM, Northern Arizona University and the Southern Sierra Research Station.

 This US Fish and Wildlife Service and Arizona Game & Fish Department  approved training is required prior to receiving federal and state permits to survey in Arizona. 

Training Fees:

Consultants: $150.

Agency Personnel: $75

Native American Tribal Entities: $50

Volunteers/Students: $10 materials fee
