The entire community is invited to join us as we celebrate the influence of agriculture in our community! The evening will begin with a cash bar reception to give you the opportunity to visit with your neighbors. The program will include a brief update from the Community Foundation and a few special guests.
Donya Lester serves dual role at Purdue University as both the Executive Director of the Purdue Ag Alumni Associtaion and also representing the College of Ag as the Director of Public Engagement. As a youngster in northwest Georgia, Donya was active in 4-H. She financed her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree from Virginia Tech University by selling feeder pigs. After brief stints at the International Brangus Breeders Association and the University of Georgia College of Agriculture, Donya landed “the best job in the land grant system” when she became the Executive Secretary, now Executive Director, of the Purdue Agricultural Alumni Association, Inc.
For 25 years, she has managed Purdue’s oldest and most active constituent alumni organization. In addition to that role, in 2011 Donya became Director of Public Engagement for the Purdue College of Agriculture. She and husband, Daniel Gwin, enjoy life on their farm in Linden.
Logan Glassburn, a 2016 graduate of South Newton High School, is currently serving as the Indiana FFA Sentinel. Since elected in June, Logan has resided in Trafalgar with the state officer team. They have spent this year traveling the state to visit local chapters and ag industry partners, represented our state at national meetings and conventions, and led numerous leadership opportunities for FFA members across the state.
Logan grew up outside of Earl Park with her parents, David and Mary. At the conclusion of her term in June, Logan plans to attend Purdue University and major in Agronomy. She will receive support from the Foundation through the Elizabeth Davies-Ellis Scholarship. Logan hopes to enter a career in the agriculture industry and be an advocate for a Hoosier owned business.
