Hi CSU Marching Band Members!
Can you believe it’s already time to get ready for marching band again? Coming off of a successful season with yet another bowl game appearance, we look forward to supporting our CSU Football team in our BRAND NEW ON-CAMPUS STADIUM! This is going to be a historic year as we participate in our stadium’s inaugural season. With a brand new game day experience we need all of you, along with your energy and enthusiasm, to get the crowd pumped up and to cheer on our Rams to victory!
Thanks to the continued generosity of our CSU administration, if you are a full time student with a cumulative 2.8 GPA at the beginning of fall semester (2017), you will receive the following award (total amount):
If you do not meet the criteria, you will still receive the base award of $500. We are so grateful for the support we have from the administration in the College of Liberal Arts, School of Music Theatre, and Dance, and the University as a whole!
One more thing to save some confusion: If you were a woodwind or brass member last year, you don’t need to re-audition if you are performing on the same instrument. All new members, all drumline and colorguard, and all returning members who are switching instruments will audition live on June 10. ALL RETURNING MEMBERS SHOULD FILL OUT THIS REGISTRATION FORM (not the new-member audtion form).
You need to fill out your commitment form by no later than June 9.
Thanks to you, the reputation and quality of the CSU Marching Band continues to grow. Our performances in our fourth straight bowl game, the 9News Parade of Lights, and the CBA Regionals all received great feedback from our fans last year! I hope you’ll be part of the historic 2017 season as we continue to make this a world-class band.
GO RAMS!

Director of the CSU Marching Band
Associate Director of Bands
Please read and consider the performance schedule carefully. Being in the marching band is a commitment to everyone else that you will attend band camp and rehearsals consistently and that you will be present at every performance that is listed as “full band.”
We expect everyone to perform at all events. We want this to be an organization in which you are proud to be a member. It is our intention to not march with any absences during performances. Every element of our planning for the upcoming season is based on the number of people who fill out this commitment form. Please realize your importance to the organization. Should an unavoidable conflict occur, please notify the director immediately: Richard.Frey@colostate.edu.
We fully support your decision to participate or not--there is no pressure either way--we just need to know! Since we do not estimate band members based on registration, simply dropping the course does not help us plan appropriately. You must inform the director if you change your mind. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!
