In 1989 AUSA's Third Region established the Robert F. Cocklin Award to recognize annually an individual who has made significant contributions to the United States Army and our Country. The award is named in honor of Major General (Retired) Robert F. Cocklin, former Director of Public Affairs and President of the Association of the United States Army for more than thirty years. Major General Cocklin passed away in January 1996.
