Rugby NorCal Junior Youth Jamboree Registrations, 2017!

Welcome to the end of season Jamboree for Rugby NorCal Junior Youth Rugby (U8) on Saturday March 4th, (U10) on Saturday March 11th, and (U12) on Saturday March 18th at Wilder Ranch, Orinda. 

Registration: Fee of $50 per team U8 entered, and $75 per U10 & U12 team entered. Registration is due no later than Friday February 24th for U8, Wednesday, March 1st for U10, and Wednesday March 8th for U12.

Late registrations will not be accepted.
With the number of clubs anticipated, acceptance will be based on a first come first served registration basis. Registration includes filling out the online form (links below) completely and providing payment by the respective registration deadlines.
Note: incomplete registrations will not be accepted.


Tournament Registration Fee: $50/U8 Team and $75/U10-12 Team -  By check or credit card (through PayPal).
Registration Closes: February 24th, 2017 for U8, March 1st for U10, and March 8th for U12

Your Club must provide at least one referee and one volunteer for each tournament you plan on participating in. Contact information for these indiviudals must be current and included in your registration. Failure to provide both a referee(s) and volunteer(s) may result in your club being barred from participation. These events only run with volunteers and referees!


Participating clubs are required at day of tournament to check-in with:

  • Team (CMS) Rosters. All players must be registered with Rugby NorCal and each club must bring a printout from the RNC website’s Competition Management System, (CMS) of their complete roster with names, dates of birth, photographs and CIPP numbers. No Documentation = No Play 
  • One certified referee per division entered with CIPP #. Note: division referee must not be the same person as a head coach in that division (U8 is an exception), and must be fully available to officiate unhindered by coaching activities or time constraints        
  • One certified head coach per side entered with CIPP #
  • One volunteer per club to assist on tournament day  – must be available for entire day
  • One new size 4 game ball per club

Divisions:

There will be five divisions: U8 (which play on 3/4), U10 Open, U10 Light (which play 3/11), U12 Open and U12 Light (which play 3/18).  Per the Rugby NorCal 2017 Junior Youth Playing Regulations the age definitions require that players not turn the relevant age as of September 1, 2016. So, for example, a U12 player cannot turn 12 years old before 9/1/16, and therefore cannot be born before 9/1/2004.

Age restrictions must be strictly adhered to except for specific players waived by the Tournament Committee prior to the Tournament as described below.

Division Weight Limitations: The Light Divisions are as follows:

  • U10 Light –80 lbs. and under dressed to play
  • U12 Light –100 lbs. and under dressed to play

Light/Open Division players will be weighed at check in.  No weight waivers.

Match Regulations:

The tournament will substantially adhere to the 2017 Rugby NorCal Junior Youth Playing Regulations, which are available HERE.  Any further requirements will be communicated.

Players must not move between teams on the same club.  Loading up teams by bringing strong players from another team is prohibited.  This will be monitored and may result in forfeit.

Final Schedule:  Tournament schedule for U8 will be published February 27th, 2017; March 6th, 2017 for U10's and March 13th, 2017 for U12's.

Weather Cancellation. The tournament is on all-weather fields and will be played rain or shine, except if the conditions are deemed unsafe for play.

Age Waivers: The Tournament Committee will consider limited waivers of the age requirements for smaller, timid, less experienced, less physically developed, and/or less capable players.

Weight Limits: As should have been abided by the whole season, the Junior Youth Jamborees will strictly adhear to the weight regulations for each age group, including that of the Red Socks rules for X-Players. No exceptions will be made, and every player will be weighed prior to participation. The weight limits can be found in our Junior Youth Regulations.

The waiver is not a loophole to gain an advantage. The Waiver IS NOT MEANT to allow clubs to stack a team or “bring down” a smaller rugger for the tournament who has been playing at his/her age all season. This is for the smaller, youngster whose birthday is a week, a month or so before the cut-off date or is mismatched when it comes to size, physical development and confidence. Waived players will not be the standouts, outrunning everyone else and scoring at will. Rather, the waived player should blend in with the others on the pitch. Please adhere to this spirit.  

Please submit player’s name, birth date, weight, CIPP number, photo, which age group waiver desired and a very brief explanation for the request. Waivers must be received by March 2nd in order to be considered. The list of players with waivers will be used during check in. Not on the list, no waiver. Send waiver requests to:
