Zen Buddhist Precepts Class

Taking Refuge in the Bodhisattva Way

The path of Zen, of awakening, is a path we walk together and not alone. It is a way of being in the world leads us to a deeper connection with all its beings (both sentient and non-sentient). The Zen Buddhist precepts guide us first to our heart and then to a way living that encourages awakening. It's not about being perfect, rather its more about a commitment to the way and to our essence.

This six week class is open to all LZC members who have at been practicing at the centre for at least a year. After completion of the class and assignments participants are welcome to attend the Refuge Ceremony and receive their Rakusu and become an ordained Zen student (monk).

Rakusu's can be hand sewn or purchased (approximately $200) from a small Zen company that specializes in making Zen Rakusus. More details avaialble at the class.

Cost*: LZC members $300

This class is led by Sensei Lynda Gaudry. Lynda is an authentic Zen teacher  in the Zen line of Robert Aitken and offers a very warm and engaging approach to Zen and meditation practice. When, not at LZC, she works as a pharmacist and is a graduate of the Shiatsu School of Canada (Masunaga style/Zen Shiatsu) and is also a graduate of the SSC Acupuncture Institute.
