About the Presenter

Arlene H. Henry, QC is a member of Mediate BC’s Roster Committee and each of the civil, family and child protection mediator Rosters. As a member of the Roster Committee, Arlene was instrumental in the review and development of both Mediate BC Standards of Conduct for Mediators and the Med-Arb Guidelines and Recommended Standards of Conduct (in collaboration with BCAMI).

Arlene is a lawyer, mediator, parenting coordinator, adjudicator, instructor, and dispute resolution coach. She has been mediating since 1998 and is particularly interested in the restructuring of families, and child and youth participation in dispute resolution processes. Arlene trained at both the JIBC and CLEBC and is a certified comprehensive family mediator with Family Mediation Canada. Arlene is on the board of both the BC Parenting Coordinators Roster Society and the BC Hear the Child Society, and is actively involved in the development of each discipline within BC. She has lead and coached family and civil mediation courses for multiple training organizations.

Arlene is also experienced in working with First Nations, assisting with the implementation of each of the Tsawwassen and the Maa-nulth First Nations Treaties. She is a former member of both the Employment Assistance Appeal Tribunal and the mediation roster for the Police Complaint Commission.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Mediate BC is unable to refund registration fees. Substitutes are always welcome. Registration will remain pending until full payment is received. Refunds of any type will be made in the form of a cheque, regardless of the method of initial payment, from Mediate BC Society and sent by post to the mailing address provided on the registration form. Mediate BC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events, refuse admission, or change speakers, location, or content. Unless Mediate BC specifically states a course has been pre-approved for the Law Society of BC or Mediate BC Roster CPD, registrants should ensure that it meets their PD requirements. It is also the responsibility of registrants to make sure the course they register for counts toward the accreditation pursued.
