About Mr Tamayo:
William Tamayo was appointed in June 1995 as the Regional Attorney for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, San Francisco District. He currently directs the Commission's litigation and legal program in Northern California, Northern Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho and Montana. He supervises a staff of 17 lawyers and seven support staff. During his tenure as Regional Attorney, the EEOC San Francisco District has obtained significant recoveries for employees who have experienced workplace discrimination. The work of the EEOC on behalf of farmworkers was featured in the June 2013 Frontline/PBS documentary, "Rape in the Fields" which also aired on Univision.
Mr. Tamayo has trained for a variety of government, academic, and non-profit entities. Mr. Tamayo was a co-founder of the National Network to End Violence Against Immigrant Women and of Asian Pacifics with Disabilities in California, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Bar Association of San Francisco Labor and Employment Committee. He is a member of the Mediation Panel, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California.
