President's Council: Leading Change

from the President's Chair

About the Workshop:

President's Council: Leading Change from the President’s Chair

Over 70% of all organizational change efforts fail. Why? Because often, the organization’s time and money are focused on the actual change i.e. a merger, a new database, an executive search etc. And while this approach makes perfect sense cognitively, what is often ignored or downplayed is the “human element”, or the people side of change.

When leading a board or an organization through difficult change, you will inevitably challenge what people hold dear – their daily habits, their loyalties, and their ways of thinking. Of course these are precisely the kinds of things you actually need them to change in order for your change initiative to work. So, anticipating and developing a strategy for managing the natural resistance in advance will go a long way in ensuring your success.

Whether you are navigating an executive’s transition, the loss (or gain) of a major funding stream, shifts in client need or you’re trying to change your board’s culture, this session will offer new insights for successfully preparing, managing and reinforcing change from the president’s chair.
