Thank you to everyone who donated a bluebird

Bluebird Parade

During the First Friday ArtWalk, there will be a Bluebird Parade on the Downtown Mall - one bluebird to represent each child in foster care in our community. Right now, that number is 270.

The Parade Route
On Friday, the flock of Bluebirds will be displayed on the lawn in front of Piedmont CASA. At 4:30, there will be a brief talk before launching the flock at 5:00. The Parade will head to the Sprint Pavilion, then fly down to the other end of the mall, and finally land at The Haven.

Join Us
We need 270+ people to join the parade and carry a bluebird. So if you'd like to participate - please click the yellow button!

How bluebirds are fundraising for foster kids

Our amazing community created so many beautiful, funny, heartfelt bluebirds that it was hard to choose 35 for the silent auction.

The final collection will be on display at The Haven as part of the First Fridays ArtWalk on May 5. They will be sold on the same day in a Silent Auction.

Any funds raised will go toward helping children in foster care by training and supporting foster care families, and by giving foster children a voice in court through the advocacy work of CASA Volunteers. Funds will be equally divided between the  and the Foster Care Adoption Awareness Coalition (FCAAC)

The other 270 bluebirds will be in the May 5 Parade on the downtown mall and will then land at The Haven, where the Silent Auction is being held.

Anyone who stops by The Haven and makes a donation can select a bluebird.

Word of advice: we've heard lots of folks express their desire for particular bluebirds - so if you have a favorite, you might want to come early.
