2017 Advanced AR15 - Finding Your Limitations - Aug 5 

This 8-hour clinic is designed for those with an understanding of the fundamentals of marksmanship and basic operation of the the AR15 platform and who want to find the limitations of their ability, firearm, and ammo.

This is not a precision rifle course. It is geared specifically for the standard AR15/combat carbine. We will discuss the pros and cons of the 25, 36, 50 and 100 yard zero and environmental effects on the bullet.

After obtaining a zero, we will engage targets of varying size out to 600 yards. The course will end with a series of dynamic drills that will have the shooter engaging targets at various distances in a limited amount of time.

Required Equipment:

 

• Serviceable AR15 preferably in .223 or .556 - similar platforms are acceptable (SCAR16, Mini14, FNC, Tavor, SigMCX, Aug)
• Sling
• 3 magazines minimum
• Iron sights, red dot, or powered optics up to 6 power - the powered optics we expect are ACOG, ELCAN, 3X power option for red dot optics
• 200 rounds of ammunition
• Range appropriate clothing
• Note taking material
• Drinking water and lunch - we will not leave the range for lunch
• Eye and hearing protection

 

Optional Equipment:

 

• Bipod shooting mat
• Sun screen
• Bug spray
