CEMEX Cement Plant Tour - Clinchfield - Central Chapter

GMA is pleased to provide unique manufacturing plant tours of industry leaders in all regions of Georgia. By sharing solutions to common challenges and identifying best practices, we are building a stronger manufacturing community in Georgia.

CEMEX is the oldest cement plant in the state of Georgia and has been in business for over 100  years.  They produce over 780,000 tons of cement annually and are the #1 user of alternative fuels in the world using peanut hulls, tires, and wood chips.  Tour attendees will see the entire cement manufacturing process, from mining the raw materials, to processing, to burning, to final processing and shipment by rail, flat bed, or bulk truck.   You will also see a kiln that burns material at 2800 degrees, heavy mining,  and industrial equipment.  Attendees will also participate in a quarry tour and archeological dig (weather permitting).
