 5K Run for Freedom!

My name is Gracie Slye, and I am a senior at Trinity School at Meadow View. This year I have the privilege of coordinating TSMV’s sixth annual 5K Run for Freedom benefitting the International Justice Mission (IJM). I have felt very passionate about the work IJM does for quite some time now, and I am thrilled to be able to contribute to their inspiring mission.

IJM is a Christian human rights organization working around the world to rescue victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violence and oppression. IJM’s vision is to “rescue thousands, protect millions, and prove that justice for the poor is possible.” Not only does IJM seek to bring justice to all areas of the globe, it seeks to be a true witness of Christ and a vessel of His love.

Our student body is exhilarated that we have the opportunity to support such an uplifting cause, and that we can take a stand against injustice and contribute to “defending the defenseless”. Hence, the goal for this year’s race is to not just raise as much money as we can, but to also raise awareness and equally advocate the “voice of the voiceless”.

We want to make a difference in people's lives, so we are putting our words into action and fighting for those who cannot.  If this cause resonates and you would like to play a part in saving someone's life, please consider supporting our IJM 5K fundraiser.

This year TSMV’s 5K Run for Freedom is on Saturday, May 6th, at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax. Registration is $20 and begins at 8:00 a.m., and the race starts at 9:00 a.m. and is a run or walk optional. We want as many people as possible to gather together and support this worthy cause, so bring your families, friends, and neighbors! If you cannot attend, my team and I ask that you strongly consider making a donation to support IJM’s work. Donations can be made by writing a check to IJM and giving it to myself or Joseph Piescikat TSMV, or by paying online below.

In addition to your generous support, please help us spread the word about the race by forwarding this email to others who may be interested in playing a part in saving someone’s life. The more people understand the mission of IJM, the more they may be moved to support its cause of freeing the oppressed from the bonds of slavery.
