New Girls Social Group Join the newly created Autism Society Teen Scene Girls Group! This group consists of four or five girls between the ages of 14-18 who have a little higher support needs. There will be two facilitators and topics such as being socially appropriate and safe, expected vs. unexpected and "A 5 is Against the Law" will be discussed in groups. Meet the facilitators:
Gabey is a Teacher at Lakeland School and also serves as a floor supervisor with iCan Shine. She has been involved with the Autism Society of SE WI since High School as a volunteer.
Gabey Davis
Heather Rockwell Heather is studying Social Work at UW-Whitewater and is also a part-time sub at Lakeland School and a Floor Supervisor for iCan Shine. She also works with Easter Seals over night camps and does respite care for individuals of various ages.
This class is being created for the first time so we are hoping this pilot group will provide insights and feedback as we discuss specific things that parents would like to see covered. There will be six one-hour classes held at the Autism Society office beginning on April 19th.
Currently there are only a few spots available so register if you are interested today!
The cost for the class is $225 for members, $245 for non-members. We are not able to accept insurance however this may be a program that is eligible for county funding- so be sure to talk to your county worker.
