How would you like the opportunity to do a collaborative art project with your family or friends?  If so, we would like to introduce you to, "Art & Heirloom" - Four, 2-hour sessions of interactive, art workshop fun allowing families (and friends) the opportunity to collaborate on a theme-based art project.  This exciting new program will inspire you to play, think, remember, imagine, and most of all, create beautiful artwork -- together!  Don't worry if you're not a born Picasso as no prior art experience is necessary!  Our  professional artist guides will support you through every step of the process from brainstorming and developing your unique vision, to handling craftsmanship and materials.  Your artwork can be drawn, painted, printed, or assembled as a mixed media piece with a central theme that reflects the true essence of your family.  You can attend the workshop either as a family member or as an individual who would simply like to produce an art piece of your own.  So, come and join Allison Parker, an award winning painter and illustrator, as she helps you bring your ideas to life and discover hidden family talent!

What we will do…

We will start by gathering your favorite photos, reference images, fabric scraps, mementos etc.  We will then incorporate them into a mixed-media painting with a specific family theme.  It may be a landscape of your favorite vacation spot, a decorated silhouette of family members, a wacky original board game, or an illustration of your favorite family recipe.  Art school graduate instructors will teach basic design principles and help you craft your finished work of art.

This workshop is studio-based, meaning that you will be provided with the space, materials, and instruction needed to complete your project at MOMAC.  Our last session will be a fun group activity to share your creation!
