Every year, NeighborWorks New Horizons (NWNH) brings together our residents, supporters, partners, board, and staff to celebrate yet another year of providing homes and building strong communities together.

 

We are in a pivotal time to address access to affordable housing options in our community. Connecticut ranks 8th in the nation as least affordable housing market, leaving families burdened with excessive monthly rents that force tough choices about healthcare, food, education, financial savings, and more. However, public funding for affordable housing is facing the threat of unprecedented cuts.  The availability of safe, affordable homes are the bedrock of stable neighborhoods, a decent quality of life, and a region's economic vitality. Now, more than ever, is the time to double down on our commitment to making Connecticut an affordable place to live. 

We are proud to provide our communities with the stabilizing force of housing, and we hope you will join us. Since 1992, NWNH has worked to provide affordable housing and strengthen community building initiatives in Connecticut. In 2016, we provided housing for over 1,800 individuals, in addition to providing financial literacy programming and youth services for 200 residents.

 

There are a number of ways to make an impact on making Connecticut housing more affordable - for the NWNH community, the Annual Meeting is an important one.
