1-Day MEGA Risk Assesment Training:

Assessing Sexually Abusive Youth

(CCOSO Conference)

Learn tools for assessing risk for coarse sexual improprieties, and/or sexually abusive behaviors in youth ages 4-19 years. Applicable for adjudicated and non-adjudicated, males and females, including youth with low intellectual functioning. Tested on over 2200 youth internationally (largest validation studies in its field) and provides a comprehensive individualized risk assessment report according to age and gender. Can also follow changes in the youth’s risk level over time (is an outcome measure). 

Author\Presenter: Dr. Miccio-Fonseca:

  • A clinical /forensic psychologist, a leading expert in the field of child sexual abuse
  • Author of numerous articles on sexually abusive individuals and assessment of such individuals. 
  • Dr. Miccio-Fonseca’s ongoing research on sex offenders (all ages and genders) led to the development of MEGA and the Personal Sentence Completion Inventory (PSCI, 1994). 
  • The PSCI is a first of its kind versatile inventory used in exploring erotic development.
  • Assisted in MEGA training by Dr. L.A. Lee Rasmussen, Senior Research Consultant Dr. Rasmussen is Associate Professor at School of Social Work, San Diego State University.

The Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma (IVAT) is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. IVAT maintains responsibility for this continuing education program and its content. This training meets the qualifications for up to 6.5 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
