About Prevent Biometrics:
Prevent Biometrics, a Cleveland Clinic spin-off, has developed patented concussion impact monitoring technology that detects concussion causing impacts, allowing parents, coaches and trainers to monitor athletes in real time on the field of play. Embedded in a mouthguard and paired with a mobile app, Prevent’s system delivers real time alerts to caregivers when athletes receive impacts that exceed predictive thresholds. The system identifies those athletes for assessment, significantly reducing the risk of undetected and untreated concussions. The product is in the final stages of commercial development, and will be available for sale in the summer of 2016.
