The Southern C Summit Work + Wellness Retreat 

The Southern C is excited to announce an in-depth and intimate Work + Wellness Retreat where attendees will:  

Take a deeper dive into business topics like social media strategy; branding + creative strategy; brand collaborations; media, PR + marketing; and business entrepreneurship, as well as work/life balance. Six extended master class sessions will be offered over the course of two days: 

  • Erin Loechner, author of Chasing Slow and the Design for Mankind blog will talk about her entrepreneurial journey, how to maximize social media effectiveness while maintaining personal sanity, and conduct a social media assessment
  • Coastal Living’s Editor in Chief, Steele Marcoux; Style Director, Lindsey Ellis Beatty; Homes Editor, Ellen McGauley; and Digital Content Manager, Susan Hall Mahon, will share their professional styling secrets from years in the industry, including how to style products for digital and social media, for print and for media pitches. They will also share ways to apply easy styling tricks to your own home.
  • Suzanne LeRoux, founder and president of One Love Organics, will discuss developing relationships with national brands and retailers based on her success working with national retailers Anthropologie, Free People and Bluemercury. She will cover the early stages–what to think about, planning your approach and who to target–as well as follow up, relationship building (and maintaining), defining the collaboration, and even the legal agreements and investments to consider. She will also discuss the importance of a green beauty regime for wellness.
  • Brian Salter, a licensed CPA, will discuss bettering your business operations based on 25+ years experience in financial management and accounting–in both corporate finance and running his own businesses–to help tackle topics in financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and analysis. Not just a CPA, Brian will also lean on his experience as a wellness coach and the founder of 30A Wellness to shine a light on how we can not only run our businesses better on the back end, but shape our businesses (and ourselves) to work towards our individual goals of success and happiness.
  • In addition, we are also bringing some of the Coterie’s most requested favorites beachside for hour-and-a-half master classes – Mandy Kellogg Rye of Waiting on Martha for social media, Haile McCollum of Fontaine Maury for branding + creative strategy, and Libba Osborne and Jackie Thomson of leapfrog PR for PR.
  • Mentors in a variety of fields and specialties.

Have the opportunity to connect and collaborate with other seasoned entrepreneurs, industry experts and media on a deeper dive level:

  • Smaller than our annual Summit with fewer attendees and a more intimate resort setting. WaterColor Inn & Resort has 60 guest rooms and suites. All lunches and dinners, cocktail events and evening activities are included and involve attendees, speakers and media for more face-to-face time
  • Multiple small-group mentor sessions. 

Enjoy more unstructured time to slow down and reflect in a relaxed manner that takes advantage of the natural beauty that the 500-acre WaterColor Inn property and its surroundings offer.  We hope that discovering shared interests and activities will also lead to deeper personal connections. Attendees will have a 3+ hour block of time daily to reconnect with themselves + connect with other attendees outside of the classroom and networking environment.
