6-19-17 Pre-Symbolic Communication Strategies

Target Audience: Teachers of students with complex needs, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, Speech/Language Pathologists

Description:  Participants will explore the APH Symbols and Meaning Kit to teach students how to use symbols to communicate basic concepts using core vocabulary. Emphasis will be on how to reinforce the meaning of symbols learned in natural environments.  Participants will explore the APH Tactile Connections kit to learn strategies for developing, constructing, and applying a tactile card system.  All activities are designed for children with multiple disabilities who are pre-symbolic communicators.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.
