7-6-17 Stress Less : Integrating Mindfulness into School Culture

Speaker:  Lisa King and Karen King

Target Audience: K-12 Classroom teachers, counselors, special educators, administrators, PASS coaches, school psychologists

Description:  Research shows that “relaxed students learn better and relaxed teachers teach better”.  In this session participants will explore research around mindfulness for students and staff, build a toolkit full of strategies for reducing stress in the classroom and leave with ready to implement ideas.  The second part of the day will focus on stress relief for teachers.  Participants will have the opportunity to practice breathing and yoga for stress reduction and explore ideas for building a personal mindfulness practice. 

Dress comfortably and bring a beach towel or yoga mat.  All other materials will be provided.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
