Liberate your student's voices

and bring back the joy to teaching writing!

Ralph               Barry

Over the last 30 years we have been traveling to classrooms and talking to teachers and students across the country. Lately, we've noticed what Ralph calls a Big Chill. Students don't love to write as much. Writing workshop has become just another activity sandwiched within a content loaded program and not a safe place for students to explore, create, and find their true voices.

Take a breath.

It doesn't have to be this way.

You can make writing central to your student's learning and their lives and still meet all your teaching targets.

You can give kids back the keys to the writing van.

But first you have to bring on the joy.

Spend two days writing and learning with us and you will walk away with a whole new outlook on your own writing, along with many ideas on how to bring this joy to your students.
